Companies let you group the people you work with under a single organization, so your whole team sees the full relationship at a glance. Companies are first-class records — they carry the same rich panel set as contacts.
Open Companies
Click Companies in the left sidebar. You’ll see your company list with a Search companies box. Selecting a company opens its Overview (Phone, Email, Website, Address, Unique ID, Ticker, SIC, Division, Region, Description). Primary fields are editable inline right in the Overview, and an Enrich button can auto-fill details. The Contacts panel lists the people linked to the company, with the main person marked Primary.
Company panels
Click the Panels button (right toolbar) to choose which panels appear on a company. Under System Panels you get Overview, Contacts, Opportunities, Tasks, Notes, Documents, Activity, and All Custom Fields; a Custom Panels tab holds any you’ve built. A company can now own its own tasks, notes, and documents — just like a contact.
Add a company
- Click the + in the header to open the Add Company window.
- Enter the Company Name (required); optionally add Industry, Website, Phone, Email, and Address.
- Click Save.
Configuring the create screen (Edit fields)
Click Edit fields in the Add Company window to control which fields appear and in what order. In the Edit Fields panel:
- The left Available Fields list (searchable) holds every field. Click the + next to a field to add it to Selected Fields on the right.
- Drag the handles to reorder Selected Fields; click the − to remove one (Core fields are locked and can’t be removed).
- Create a brand-new field with the + at the top of Available Fields.
- Click Save.
The same Edit fields control appears on the create contact and create opportunity screens, so you can tailor each create form the same way.
Link contacts to a company
Open a company and use the + in its Contacts panel to add people (or set a contact’s company from the contact record). Mark one person as the Primary contact. Everyone linked appears on the company’s record.
